Celebrating a Life Well-Lived: Eloise Blanck's Legacy in Education and Community

Eloise Mae Hollinger Blanck, a devoted educator and pillar of her community, passed away on December 'date' at the age of 92. Born on April 12, 1920, in Lebanon to David and Sara Wengert Hollinger, Eloise was destined for greatness. She spent over five decades with her loving husband, Harold Blanck, whom she married on August 'date', celebrating their 65th anniversary just last summer.

Eloise's love for learning began at a young age, earning her a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Lebanon Valley College in 1941. Her educational pursuits led her to teach French, Latin, and English at the Manheim Central School District, where she spent many years shaping young minds. As a retired educator, Eloise continued to make an impact on her community through her volunteer work at the Manheim library and other local charities.

Beyond her dedication to education, Eloise was an accomplished individual with a passion for Scrabble, gardening, music, and spending time with family and friends. She cherished her annual summer vacations in Potter County and Ontario, Canada, where she would spend quality time with Harold and their loved ones. The couple's 65-year marriage was a testament to their enduring love and commitment.

Eloise was also an active member of Salem United Methodist Church in Manheim, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and performed duets with her dear friend Nellie Lull. Her faith and values were evident in her selfless service to others, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.

Eloise is preceded in death by her brother, Reynold Hollinger. She leaves behind her loving husband, Harold; two sons, David Blanck (Martha Kenworthy) of Hershey and Philip Blanck (Rachel Beiler) of Lititz; four grandchildren, Sarah Messersmith, Christopher Myers, Alex, and Leah Blanck; and a brother, Richard Hollinger (Helen) of Palmyra.

As we reflect on Eloise's remarkable life, we are reminded of the importance of family, community, and dedication to one's passions. Her legacy serves as an inspiration to all who knew her, and we will continue to celebrate her memory through the countless lives she touched during her 92 years on this earth.
